Lice mascot
For a medical campaign on head lice prevention, I was briefed to create a mascot in the form of lice. These parasitic insects can be found on human scalps (kids mainly and indirectly to their parents). I chose to picture them as human-looking suspects in my illustrations. The aim was to help parents take preventive measures and help kids know the importance of it, but still keep a fun and reassuring tone. I believe it is essential for such a project to put yourself into a kid’s shoes and above all, not scare them as a frightening message can do the opposite of what’s necessary. Most of the work I do is directed towards children, which I love because it gives me the opportunity to unleash all my imagination.
3D effect
For this prevention campaign, I chose to picture two vilain mascots and to add some extra depth I made a three-dimensional mascot using Cinema 4D software. If you look closely, the play of textures and lights brings out certain features of the nasty parasite. The mascots look real and are photographed by the police officers in charge of the investigation.
