Health themed illustrations : The organs and skeleton

Medical illustration : self-medication prevention 

I created characters on the theme of the human body to communicate about the risks of self-medication and help raise awareness about the cause. People opt for self-medication as a way to cure themselves of numerous problems but consuming medication without your doctor’s approval can be devastating in the long run. From this observation the idea was to convey a strong and important message while keeping an inviting and somewhat humoristic tone. I did the storyboard, the character illustrations, the background scenes (the sketches and the colouring via Illustrator) and the animation follow-up via After Effects.

Using graphic design to communicate 

The prevention campaign was broadcasted on the web (on Youtube, Facebook and Twitter) but was also printed on large posters that were displayed in pharmacy windows. The video we made reached more than 2,000,000 views and managed to open up a dialog between patients and their pharmacists. In this day and age, digital media has become a major actor in our lives in terms of messaging because it can reach a large audience very quickly. In addition to that, I believe that if you have a strong message and appealing messaging. This greatly improves the chance that the message will be heard. Using effective visual communication mediums like illustration, animation and infographics will only make your message more powerful. 

Education illustration of the human body anatomy

I was commissioned by Lito publishing house to create an illustrated human body poster, after they saw the work I did for the pharmacies. The brief was to use a fun, educative style that would adapt to kids while providing accurate information about the human body’ anatomy (organs and skeleton).
